Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, also known as Halloween 666: The origin of Michael Myers takes place eight years after Part 5. Jamie Lloyd and Michael are missing after the massacre at the police station. But now, eight years later we find out Jamie was actually captured by Michael and his cult. She was impregnated and gave birth on October 30, a day before Halloween. She manages to escape from the clutches of Michael with her baby, but Michael is always one step ahead of her and sadly she is killed. However Before Jamie dies she hides her baby which Tommy Doyle finds and realizes that Michael is going to try to kill the baby and anyone who gets in his way. HalloweeN 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers
HalloweeN: The Curse Of Michael Myers takes the story of Michaels background in a new direction and incorparates the curse of Thorn which Michael is actually infected with. In short its Michaels fate to kill everyone in his family.
Ill let you know right now that I was happier when Mike was just an unstoppable maniac. But its not all as bad as I make it out to be.
First things first, the original cut of the film was a whole lot better. It explained exactly what Thorn was in more detail, included some sort of underground cult and had a much better finale. What the hell?!? Why wasnt it released? Instead were left with a roughly cut, jumbled up story with a mediocre ending. Im not saying I hate the film because I dig all the Halloween movies but why wasnt the original released? Frankly its just a whole lot better and makes more sense than the movie we all know!
All bad points aside there are some good points. For one Michael is extremely scary looking in the film! The mask is very creepy (the best mask) and he seems almost robotic and inhuman, whereas in previous entries he was a psycho in a mask you almost feel the mask is a part of him in this film (bring back George Wilbur!)
There arent any award winning performances in the film but the actors do get the job done well. Pleasence didnt seem to shine this time though and seemed tired although he still succeeded in his role. Overall the film is quite enjoyable although rather tedious but it still has shocks, great strobe lighting effects and eerie sound effects. Doesnt make up for the film overall but keeps you watching. 6/10
